Flamengo promises to cause a lot of headaches for the club's directors. Due to the debt contracted with the player, a Flamengo member filed a precautionary measure against the club's president, Patricia Amorim, and the vice-president of finance, Michel Levy, in which he asks for the blocking of the top hats' assets as a way of guaranteeing possible compensation from the club for the losses caused by Ronaldinho's contract.
In the judicial protest filed at the th Civil Court of BTC Number Data Rio de Janeiro, publicist Affonso Romero accuses Patricia and Levy of reckless management, citing paragraph of article of Law which deals with regulations relating to sport in Brazil.
According to the legislation, “the administrators of professional sports entities are jointly and unlimitedly liable for illegal acts carried out, reckless management or contrary to the provisions of the articles of incorporation or statute, under the terms of Law no. of January Civil Code” .
The legal action is being handled by lawyer Walter Monteiro , from the law firm Goes, Monteiro & Tocantins. According to the lawyer, the protest raises the possible civil liability of the club's legal administrators for losses involving the contract with Ronaldinho Gaúcho.
The measure also asks that directors “retake the course of morality in management and financial and administrative transparency” during their term at the head of the club.
Ronaldinho left Flamengo last Thursday when he decided to collect his back wages in court. According to the player, the club owes him around R$ million, an amount corresponding to months of Social Security, Guarantee Fund and five months of image rights. The club's board, however, recognizes only R$ million in the athlete's image rights.
