Comrades and companions, Let's move forward! It is something that we have all wanted throughout these hard months of the pandemic, in which our lives were suspended, blocked, by COVID. We move forward. According to international rankings, Spain is number 2 as a safe country against COVID, and we lead the percentage of the vaccinated population. We met the percentage of 70% vaccinated before the end of the summer and before the end of the year, 90% of compatriots over 12 years of age will be vaccinated. A collective success. From health professionals and our compatriots. I don't want to forget them. And the Spanish. Country pride. Pride of Spain. We move forward. Because vaccination encourages and consolidates economic recovery. Spain creates jobs with force. Today there are more people employed in Spain than before the pandemic. In the previous financial crisis it took more than a decade to recover what we recover today in months and with more intensity than then. Spain creates jobs while raising the Minimum Interprofessional Wage. At the same time we advance equal pay between men and women. We move forward.
The European Funds offer us the exceptional opportunity to modernize our economy. The way out of the tunnel of this crisis is not to exit where we entered, but to move forward. Going forward. Reindustrializing Spain. All territories can and deserve it. Training our young people and workers in the jobs of the new economy. We move forward. In social rights and freedoms. With the Euthanasia Law. With the Yes is Yes Law. With the State Pact against Gender Violence. With the Vocational Training Law. With the Minimum Vital Income. With the Australia Phone Number Science Law. With the LGTBI law. With the ERTEs and the protection of self-employed work. With the Remote Work Law and with the Riders Law. With the Housing Law. With the Democratic Memory law. We move forward and we will move forward. With the reconstruction of the Island of La Palma. Putting an end to laws such as the gag law and the PP labor reform, imposed and without agreements, which made contracts precarious and devalued salaries. We will move forward strengthening Europe. And we will move forward, abolishing prostitution that enslaves women. That is my commitment: to move towards the Spain that we deserve. Towards the Spain we want. We celebrate our 40th Congress when we are leaving behind one of the most difficult episodes that living generations have ever had to face.
What we will not leave behind is the memory of those who fell by the wayside during the months of the pandemic. Many times they left alone, without being able to receive the last hug from their loved ones. His memory remains with us forever. And with his memory we are also left with the awareness of our fragility, the awareness of the importance of solidarity when facing the adversities of life. These days, Spanish society sees that yesterday's fear has given way to confidence because we are aware of overcoming the greatest difficulties. Many of us here, each in their own field of action, had to make difficult decisions in real time, with the little information that existed. There was no instruction manual, we wrote it with our actions. And I want to thank at this point the commitment and work that each and every one of the ministers display and display. Those who are today and those who were. My eternal gratitude. I extend my gratitude to the entire outgoing federal leadership. And to each and every one of the regional presidents, general secretaries of the federations, mayors, councilors and activists. We are a great party. We are a great family. Always, in the darkest moments, I knew I was not alone. That I had all of you by my side. You gave me the strength I needed to make such complex and difficult decisions, such as the confinement that saved 500,000 lives. Thank you. Now everything seems simpler, but it wasn't. If we move forward and if today we are at the forefront of overcoming this global tragedy, it is because, despite everything, we had more successes than mistakes, we faced the problems and found solutions to them.
